Jon Firestone - Director/DP
Jon is Blackwing’s ASL Director of Photography and lead remote head operator, known for his deep technical expertise and early adoption of cutting-edge stabilization systems.
He purchased Sony’s first professional HD camera—the HDW-700—in 2001, later becoming an early adopter of RED cameras and the original MōVI M10 gimbal from Freefly Systems. That shift to electronic stabilization transformed his shooting style; today, he rarely operates without a gimbal, favoring handheld setups with the MōVI or mounting it to a jib.
Jon has contributed to many of Colorado’s largest commercial productions, including campaigns for Kia, Jeep, Dodge, and Aston Martin. As Director of Photography for Furniture Row and a global DP for Westin Hotels through Jason Dewey Photography, his work has taken him around the world. He’s also operated aerial cameras for clients like Chevy, Aspen Tourism, and National Geographic.
A licensed drone pilot (Part 107), Jon has shot eight feature films and previously taught animation for three years in a pioneering program at the Colorado Film School.
Adam Snow - Manager/Editor
Adam is Blackwing’s Manager and Editor, combining a background in brand marketing with a sharp editorial eye and a strong sense of visual storytelling.
After graduating from the University of Colorado Boulder in 2009, he began his career at a marketing agency, honing his editing skills while jumping at every chance to be on set. On one of those early productions—shooting BTS stills 14 years ago—he met Jon, who soon after brought him on as a 1st AC for his next feature film.
Since then, Adam has worked in both on-set production and post. More often than not, he finds himself editing the very projects he’s helped shoot. From social content to feature films, he’s developed a deep appreciation not only for storytelling, but for the entire creative process—from concept to final delivery. His ability to bridge editorial and production makes him a vital part of Blackwing’s workflow, bringing both precision and energy to every project.
